iPhoneography tip of the day
#4 Tilt-shift is amazing
Tilt-shift is a photography technic designed to create a miniature effect. When you shoot a certain object, sometimes you wish to add bokeh to your photo - like the professional camera lens would blur everything around the thing you are focused at. But you only have the iPhone which, by the way, has the greatest camera of all smartphones. You just need to add a lil’ bit editing to your photos. If you use our FX Photo Studio, you may choose, for instance, the tilt-shift effect. Or you can create the similar effect with the blur instrument available in many apps. Remember: you play up one thing, you get blurry its surrounding, so the important object(s) on your photo stand(s) out beautifully.

Time goes by, but it turns out, our old apps still make people fall in love with them. Thanks to Lynne Knowlton for sharing the love to the Cartoonatic app with us.
“I can’t draw a sketch to save my life. BUT… I know how to cheat and make photos look like I sketched them. And… There is an app for that”, Lynne writes. “Discovering new apps is about as close to ecstasy as any of us will ever get.”
Just check out her flattering blog post.

#2 Think of the composition
We know that our apps like FX Photo Studio can save any photo just by applying some cool effects. But while spending time taking pictures on iPhone, isn’t there an urge to start improving your pics? Take care of composition - the rule of the thirds transforms any ruined pic into a good one.
NB! When you learn how to shoot pictures “right”, you start noticing new ways of playing with the rules. Or avoiding them - though lomography isn’t as easy as it seems to be.
If you follow our blog, you remember the contest announced together with CanvasPop? The rules are simple: submit your pics in selective colors and win fascinating prizes. That’s easy, so it turned out, our people already got lots of submissions, most of them created with Color Splash Studio app. The contest goes on, and participants still send their best shots to get canvas and apps for free. Don’t miss your chance, too. Nicky Sanford’s work featured above is absolutely stunning, but we hope it inspires more enchanting submissions.
